5 Important Reasons to Donate to The Madison Christian Giving Fund
The condition of our society gives us many reasons to be troubled. Some say that we need more government action. More rules. More programs. However, we also seem to have exhausted our reach and what has it done for us. Things are just as troubling and debt levels are blowing up and inflation is almost out of control. A wise person can see that there are limits. However, business hasn’t fully delivered for us either. Yes, business provides jobs and are essential for any community. It is easy to see that we are tearing ourselves apart. We to do something different.
There is a glimmer of hope for us in Madison. The Madison Christian Generosity Fund has raised over $1 million over the last 8 years and used 100% of that money to support Christian non-profits working to serve people in need and students living in our community. Quietly, it has been working with over a dozen small local, Christian nonprofits. The formula is simple: local people, supporting local ministries, meeting the needs of local people.
It is now time to take on a bigger role in Madison. Our ministry partners have asked us for more than double what we raised last year. They are looking for funds to support single mothers, families in need, prisoners returning to society, and more. If you know Jesus, you know that we cannot look away. We absolutely must help.
We have summaries of the ministries listed HERE. If you take a moment to look over the work that is being done, you will see that these ministries play a special role in our community. They are effective where others cannot be. They do what no other organization can. With your help and help from Above, they can end the downward spiral for individuals and our community. To make this happen we need you and others to join in. This is a time for action. God knows, it is time for something new.
There are five important reasons why you should support MCGF’s efforts:
We are local people who have leadership roles in our community. Our board will not take a penny from what you give. Your entire donation amount will go to support people in need.
We have a careful and well-structured grant review process that holds our ministry partners accountable for doing what they promised to do with your and our money. (Yes, we also donate to these Christian ministries.)
We hold Capacity Building workshops throughout the year for our ministry partners to enable them to be better managers and leaders. Effective ministries depend upon effective organizations. This is at least as important as the money we raise for them.
MCGF is able to compare proposals and distribute the financial support with an eye towards what matters most for our community. We carefully evaluate every request in terms of the ministry’s mission, overall budget and competencies. We look for ways to make your funding have the greatest good for people in need. We steward our resources with great care because our ministry partners are doing the work that our Lord called us to do.
The MCGF leadership team consists of 12 people committed to following Christ and serving Him in the Madison area. Some of us are longtime Madison residents and some bring new perspectives from outside the area.
